Today is a different day.( well!!! not excatly today..... just that i was too lethargic and busy to write this post down anytime before than this!)
I woke up with the same amount of reluctance as any Sunday. Usually, the first thing I do, when I wake up, is brush my teeth. But as I told you, today is different. I checked my cell and it showed me a message “No space for new messages”, for certain reasons i was using a Nokia 3310 for the time being(Yes... one that belongs to the Flinstones Era) and so it wasn’t a surprise for me, I have to clear my inbox every second day. But today, I don’t know how many times I’ll have to do it. Today is differnt. Today is Friendship Day.
Usually 80 percent of my discoveries happen in the washroom but not today, and you know why. While I was sipping tea, I took my cell and browsed my inbox for the best “Friendship Day Message” I had received. I found one which matched my idea of friendship. Here it is:
Being a friend is not an easy job, because it’s not just about sharing a joke, a conversation, an SMS, a coffee, or a story… It’s about sharing the most honest and true part of yourself. HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY.
I then, clicked on ‘Forward’ and ‘Send to many’ and browsed through my phone book. By the time I reached “Z” I realized that I had made an amazing discovery.
My desire for forwarding the message varied from name to name.
- I ignored the friends whom I would die for. I knew none of them would expect my SMS.
- I didn’t fell like forwarding the message to very good friends, but still managed to press my thumb.
- I thought for a moment before forwarding it to my good friends.
- And then there were names in my inbox who were there, just because I knew them. The moment I saw that kind of a name, I pressed my thumb.
So do you get the trend?
Depth of Friendship is inversely proportional to the desire of forwarding a Friendship day Message.

Do you agree? By the way…Out of around 60 messages I sent, I go three replies which strengthen my belief on my Discovery. Can you guess what that reply could be?

well I also get to know about almost all of these days which ARCHIES come up with cuz of these SMSes. Thanks to them, I always wish my gf in time....lol....
Being a mathematics student, I can't ignore the subtle flaw in the formula. The constant C should not depend solely on the cost per SMS (my SMSes are free =>C=0=> F=0 for all friends)....lolouder...
On a serious note, I also got an anonymous friendship day forward....was that you??? loloudest....

hmm..happend with me all the friggin time!
I rarely sms and when I do I make sure I sms all my loved and dear ones...that time when I go through the names, I end up deletin a lotta names...just cuz I feel they no longer need to be there in my contacts...
and when it comes to all these special day smses...i fancied it some 3-4 years back..but now tis like whoever smses me such messages, I make sure I delete em as soon as they enter into my inbox..so bugging!

Excellent post....enjoyed it a lot.Ive never thought about the thing from ur point of view though...but it was a pretty unique point of view.
